Email June 1 2010

Oh did you not get the last letter I sent?? Someone in our apartment complex has been stealing the mail so it might have gotten stolen. I'll send another one though, sorry about that. Well just to update you on whats been going on, we have a man named Charles Counts on date!! Whoo!! He will be baptised on June 12, 2010 and he quite smoking stone cold for about 12 weeks now! He reminds me too much of Leko so let Leko know that it isn't impossible. This man did it with the Lord's help, its awesome! We had a couple investigators come to church last sunday, Lonisha and Mike. Lonisha is single with 4 children and Mike is 26 and goes to U of M. He is HILARIOUS!! We also took Mike to a mission fireside last week. The ward has been speeding up and we have been getting more involved with the ward! 75 % of all our baptism come from ward members so our main focus right now is the ward. They have been so awesome. The Lord is truly blessing my companion (Elder Marston) and I with a whole lot of work. We love it, please let me know if you don't get this next letter that I am going to send. I was reading this morning in Alma 36 when Alma was talking to his son Helaman and telling him his conversion story I love how the chapter starts. Alma 36:1 "Now my son inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land" he also talked about patience (in earlier chapters when Alma was speaking to the people of Zoram) and how we should have patience in long-suffering and be diligent. Amulek preaches as well about prayer and how we should "pray in all things and in all places" what a wonderful phrase!! We taught a part member family (everyone in the family is mormon except the father so they don't go to church, but the father loves having the missionaries over, his name is Bro. Back), the Back's and we taught about prayer. We talked about Elder Uchtdorf's example of an airplane. He talked said that in order for an airplane to have lift the air pressure of the top of a wing must have a greater pull than the gravitational pull of the bottom. Prayer is huge!! Heavenly Father is above us and our ultimate goal is the Celestial Kingdom and our tools that Heavenly Father has given us must be greater than the temptations and the evils of the world. Keep writing me and I'll try not to get my mail stolen ;)

Love you Dad, your son
Elder Heimuli
